Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Data Warehousing & Modeling:
  • Construct Data Models, Views, and Stored Procedures using Microsoft SQL Server tools.
  • Extract, Transform, and Load transactional data into the data warehouse for a consistent and unified view of all information.
  • Power BI & Reporting:
  • Utilize Power BI, Power Query, and the Power BI Service to create customer and internal reports.
  • Design and implement data pipelines and models using Power Query, Power Pivot, DAX, and M.
  • Build out Power BI components including Dashboards, Datasets, Power Pivot, Power Map, Visualizations, Power Query, and reports.
  • Data Infrastructure & Management:
  • Monitor the health and performance of all Data Analytics systems.
  • Provision required infrastructure to support the maintenance and expansion of these systems.
  • Utilize Microsoft Azure Fabric components such as Synapse, Data Lake, and Data Factory.
  • Administration & Governance:
  • Manage user roles and permissions within Data Analytics systems (Power BI Service, Power Platform, Report Server).
  • Implement and enforce governance policies and best practices for Power BI usage and development.
  • Documentation & Best Practices:
  • Develop and document best practices for data processes and procedures.
Qualifications & Required Skills

  • Expert-level experience:
  • As a Data Engineer.
  • With the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • In Data Modeling, Stored Procedures, and ETL processes.
  • Strong proficiency in:
  • Power BI Application Gateway.
  • Power BI Embedded.
  • PowerShell or Python for automation.
  • Snowflake.
  • Experience with:
  • Performance analysis and optimization.
  • AI/ML experience: A significant plus.
